Projects
Programmes and published work.
Our work is listed here in order of priority: the programme currently in focus, followed by the published tools and the foundational work beneath them.
Terra
Management system · In active development
A management system for autonomous software production. Terra plans and schedules work, dispatches it to automated build and test systems, and verifies the results before release. It is the centre of the laboratory's current effort.
Terra Turbo HyperCat
Runtime · Terra programme
An operations fork of the HyperCat runtime, maintained for performance, predictability and instrumentation under Terra's production workloads.
Terra Operating Environment
Operating environment · Terra programme
A purpose-built operating environment for the Terra suite: a minimal Linux base with a native shell and two display themes, specified for reproducible production deployments.
Standalone tools produced on our systems and released in full. Each links to its public repository; the Releases page carries the complete list.
weight
Physics toy · C++ · Linux
A two-dimensional physics toy in which every object sounds like what it is made of, through modal synthesis on collision.
porkchop
Mission design tool · C++ · Linux
An interactive interplanetary transfer designer: porkchop plots of launch energy across departure and arrival dates, built on the KFL astrodynamics toolkit.
choreo
Orbital mechanics · C++ · Linux
Recovers periodic three-body choreographies, including the figure-eight solution, by minimising the gravitational action, and refines them interactively to machine precision.
unfscan
Recovery utility · C99 · Zero dependencies
Determines the structure of a Fortran unformatted file from the file alone. It reports the record table and extracts payloads, and does not attempt to infer data types it cannot verify.
KFL, the Konsole Form Language
Language · Public
The language underlying much of our tooling. KFL was developed for internal systems and is now maintained in the open, together with its associated toolkits.
Library production
Continuing programme
The continuing production of self-contained libraries for public release. Articles will be added here as individual pieces are prepared for publication.
